I have a key fob for the car and when i press the fob i can hear the the central locking box in the foot well clicking. I have checked all fuses. The remote keyless system and the central locking system in C-Max require the 12 volt battery to be in healthy state to function properly. If the 12 volt battery is dead or if the electric current has been interrupted due to corrosion on the battery terminals or the ground connection, all on-board electronics will stop working.
Country: United Kingdom. Re: A variation on a common theme - faulty central locking. March 27, 2018, 08:29:37 PM. The dodgy wire insulation/breaking wires is well known about on these, best thing to do if the wires have been repaired multiple times is to splice in a new section of wire, keeping the joins outside of the bits that move.
2. Lock the door using the lever on the door handle and then unlock 3 Times. 3. Turn off ignition. 4. Repeat 2 but with ignition OFF. 5. Turn on ignition - should hear a beep. 6. Lock door again as in 2 BUT ONLY ONCE - final beep should be heard. 7. Done! Doors should now lock at around 5mph. including reverse!!!"
however it appears to lock and unlock, so it's not that. Thanks, maybe it's just normal behaviour then. Was just concerned as the owners manual says you should get the visual signal from the indicators on the single press. All the doors and the boot lock, and the mirrors fold in, just no visual signal from the indicators when pressing the lock
Mercedes C-Class Amg: central locking no longer works on one of the doors. First try to lock the door manually. When this does not show any complications, it is because the mechanism is operational. Your dysfunction must come from another place somewhere upstream. Usually it is a malfunction originating from a short circuit.
This was a known problem with all EF's and EL's, they used new locking mechanism companred ti the older E series. If you are lucky, a Ford dealer may still fix it even though your out of the 3 year warrenty as its considered a safety problem. If not then its big $$'s to fix. Had the problem with an EF, I narrowed it to the passenger side lock
3: Key fob unlocks and locks the boot just fine as normal. 4: Internal "Lock/Open Doors" button on the dash not working. 5: Car starts and drives fine. 6: Petrol cap locked too. 1: Replaced the battery in the key fob and reprogrammed it in the ignition. 2: Disconnected the cars battery and left for 1 hour disconnected.
with both keys in the car put 1st key in igintion and :-. Turn the ignition switch from position I to position II at least four times in six seconds. Turn the ignition switch to position I. now in the learning mode. Press and hold one of the buttons on the remote while in the ignition until a chime sounds.
